YNW Melly’s lawyer is asking for his visits to be reinstated.
YNW Melly was accused of keeping pipe bombs in his cell by another inmate. Raven Liberty the attorney of YNW Melly has asked the court to remove limitations on his visits to the Broward County prison. An inmate made allegations that the 23-year-old artist, whose real name is Jamell Demons, had shanks and pipe bombs, resulting in restrictions being placed on him.

his lawyer claimed, “Another inmate submitted a grievance on or around late March 2022, saying that Mr. Demons was in possession of shanks and pipe bombs.” “In response, corrections officers searched the whole residence hall and discovered Mr. Demons in possession of one (1) writing instrument and a bag of potato chips. However, another inmate in the dormitory was caught with shanks, meds, and other illegal items.
After the search, YNW Melly was put under stringent regulations. For months, he has been restricted to meeting with his legal team in a visiting room that is too small to accommodate everyone.

Although Mr. Demons had no connection to the third-party inmate, his legal team said, he has been prevented from receiving visits as usual because of the discovery of contraband in another inmate’s hands. The facility where Mr. Demons is being held has had more than five months, which is more than enough time, to reach a decision on the grievance.
In light of these limitations, the attorneys have stated that they are unable to adequately prepare for YNW Melly’s murder case. They are also claiming that his constitutional rights and Florida law are being violated by the restrictions.

Since arriving in Broward County, YNW Melly has had to overcome a number of obstacles. In 2020, he was refused release after being diagnosed with COVID-19, and the following year, in 2021, he was reprimanded by prison officials for using Instagram to advertise his Just A Moment Of Slime album. A three-month ban on video visitation and the confiscation of his Gucci clothing were the penalties he received from the authorities for the offense. His phone rights were taken away from him once more at the beginning of this year.
He even had a tooth infection from his diamond grills. A court refused his request for immediate release so he could get the dental care he needed, despite his attorney’s arguments that his client’s teeth need more than just brushing and flossing.
YNW Melly has been in prison since 2019 as he awaits trial for first-degree murder. In 2018, he is suspected of murdering his two close friends, Anthony Williams ( YNW Sakchaser) and Christopher Thomas Jr. (YNW Juvy).
