Travis Scott has been out of the spotlight for a while since the AstroWorld tragedy.
Travis Scott has been added to the Billboard Music Awards schedule for 2022. The controversial musician is due to take the stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for the event, which will be his first public appearance since the AstroWorld tragedy. The 31-year-old singer is also up for Best Dance/Electronic Song for HVME’s remix of ‘Goosebumps.’
Ed Sheeran and Becky G have also been added to the lineup, and Elle King and Miranda Lambert will perform a duet. Mary J. Blige, Megan Thee Stallion, Burna Boy, Silk Sonic, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers have all been confirmed earlier.
Last year, Travis Scott was pushed into the spotlight after eight people died, they were crushed on the first night of his AstroWorld Festival at NRG Park in Houston.
Travis has made a number of low-key appearances in recent months, including a brief cameo appearance at a Coachella afterparty on April 17. On March 26, he performed at a private pre-Oscars party in Bel-Air.
He’ll also be the artistic director of the Primavera Festival in South America, which will take place in Brazil, Chile, and Argentina. Travis will perform three performances in November with Lorde. Arctic Monkeys and Bjork are among the festival’s other performers.
