Takeoff Memorial Being Held Today In Atlanta

Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston last weekend.

Up to 20,000 people are anticipated to attend a memorial service on Friday for Migos rapper Takeoff, who was shot and killed earlier this month outside a Houston bowling alley. Takeoff, real name Kirshnik Khari Ball, was 28 years old.

As soon as tickets became available on Tuesday, fans snatched them up for the funeral ceremony at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Free admission to the memorial service, which begins at noon ET. The tickets were only made accessible through Ticketmaster to Georgians.

According to authorities, members of the hip-hop duo Migos were at a private party at 810 Billiards & Bowling in downtown Houston when the incident occurred earlier this month.

Takeoff was the youngest member of the rap group Migos, which also included his uncle Quavo, true name Quavious Keyate Marshall, and a 30-year-old cousin Kiari Kendrell Cephus, also known as Offset. With the success of “Versace,” the group made their debut in 2013.

There was a wake held for family and friends Thursday in Atlanta. Migos members Offset and Quavo were in attendance along with Cardi B, QC CEO’s P, and Coach K (photos above). The public services being held Friday will be conducted by New Mercies Christian Church’s Rev. Jesse Curney, III. Rumors are that Justin Beiber will be one of the performers today honoring Takeoff. Out of the 20,000 attending today’s services, many will be celebrities.
