Strawberries and Creem Festival takes place this weekend in the U.K.
After being denied entry to the UK, rapper Lil Wayne will no longer perform at the Strawberries and Creem Festival, organizers have announced.
His show on Saturday was going to be his first in the UK in a long time. It has been reported that British border officials denied the 39-year-visa old’s application due to his criminal history, which is the same reason for canceling his scheduled 2011 tour of the United Kingdom. Application denials were reported by the Home Office for those with prison terms of one year or more.
As stated on the festival’s official website, “Due to extreme circumstances beyond our control or influence, we are very sorry to inform you that Lil Wayne is now unable to perform at the festival.”
The Home Office made a last-minute decision to deny Lil Wayne entry to the United Kingdom. We are extremely dissatisfied with this hasty and unfavorable decision.
Instead, they announced that Grammy-winning rapper Ludacris would perform a “UK exclusive” set on Saturday.
