NFL Player Jeff Gladney Dies In A Car Crash In Texas

Jeff Gladney and his girlfriend Mercedes Palacios were confirmed to be the individuals in the car at the time of the crash.

According to the Arizona Cardinals’ official website, Jeff Gladney, a cornerback, died in an automobile accident in Dallas on Monday morning.

According to a news release from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. Gladney who was driving a white vehicle subsequently lost control and collided with another vehicle before crashing into a freeway pier beam, killing Gladney and his girlfriend Mercedes Palacios. A guy and a woman were also in the second vehicle, but they were unharmed.

Gladney, who had played college football at Texas Christian University, was in his third season in the NFL. According to the NFL’s website, he was taken as a first-round choice by the Minnesota Vikings in 2020, however, the organization dismissed him ahead of the 2021 season after he was indicted on felony assault charges. Gladney was found not guilty in the incident and signed a two-year contract with the Cardinals in March 2022. Gladney leaves behind his one-year-old son.
