NFL Announces Designated Teams For 2023 International Games

NFL has a growing fan base as they continue the International games this year overseas.

The five teams who will compete in the 2023 International Games were revealed by the NFL – National Football League today. During the 2023 regular season, the Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs, and New England Patriots will all play international games.

Two international games will once again be held at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Venue, the only NFL stadium outside of the US that was designed specifically for that purpose. The Titans and Bills will travel to the city. As part of their multi-year commitment to play in the UK, the Jaguars will return to their home away from home, Wembley Stadium.

The Chiefs and Patriots will also play regular-season games in Germany in 2023; the host cities will be revealed later this year. Munich and Frankfurt will host games in Germany over the next four years, the NFL previously said. The NFL’s International Home Marketing Area (IHMA) program allows clubs to get international marketing rights in nations other than the US, and both the Chiefs and Patriots have been granted rights in Germany.

When the whole 2023 schedule is released later in the year, specifics including the dates, opponents, and start times will be made known.

Both Tennessee and Buffalo will be visiting London for the second time; the Titans were there in 2018 and the Bills in 2015. This year, the Jacksonville Jaguars, another NFL IHMA team with UK marketing rights, will play their historic tenth game in London. After the first international game there in Munich in 2022, the Chiefs and the Patriots will play for the first time in Germany.

Since Estadio Azteca in Mexico City is undergoing redevelopment, no international game will be played there in 2023. O’Reilly continued “The NFL’s international expansion strategy is extremely important for Mexico because of the country’s fervent and expanding fan base. We are still dedicated to year-round interaction with our incredible Mexican fans and eagerly anticipate upcoming matches there.”

The 2022 International Games set new records for viewership and attendance as interest in the League continues to increase globally.
