Nas also recently released his King’s Disease III album.
In celebration of the forthcoming 50th birthday of hip hop, Nas has been transformed into an action figure. On Monday, Steven Cartoccio, the toy designer, revealed the figurine on social media and expressed his “honor” to have worked with the legendary King’s Disease rapper.
Steven Cartoccio wrote “Nas. Truly honored to collaborate with the hip-hop legend I regard as the greatest of all time. Preorders open Thursday 12/1 at 11 am est on shop.massappeal.com Much love to @nas and everyone at @massappeal + @hiphop50 for making it happen.”
Hip-hop enthusiast Cartoccio has previously made comparable action figures of artists like The Notorious B.I.G., Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Redman, and MF DOOM, which are all visible on his Instagram profile.
Numerous events have been held to honor the genre as Hip Hop prepares to mark its 50th anniversary in 2023. Grandmaster Flash, Roxanne Shante, and Slick Rick, as well as Mayor Eric Adams, recently gathered in New York’s City Hall to discuss the multiple celebrations planned in conjunction with the Universal Hip Hop Museum, which will ultimately open its doors in 2024.
Nas recently released King’s Disease 3 with Hit-Boy, and it debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 after selling over 29,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.
It was his 16th top-10 effort, matching the record of his longtime rival JAY-Z.
