Mystikal is being charged with many other offenses.
The New Orleans rapper known as Mystikal was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on a third count of suspected sex offenses. He has been accused of rape twice in the last two decades.
Michael Tyler, 52, was detained on Sunday and jailed on many offenses, including false imprisonment and first-degree rape, according to arrest documents.
In 2004, he was accused of sexually abusing his hairdresser, according to media reports. The incident led to his arrest, and he served six years in jail before being released as a registered sex offender.
In 2017, he was detained once more after turning himself in to authorities upon learning of an outstanding warrant for his arrest in connection with an alleged assault that took place in a Shreveport casino. His 2017 charges were dismissed and he was granted bail in the amount of $3 million.
As of Monday morning, no bond had been posted in connection with the rapper’s most recent arrest. First-degree rape, simple robbery, domestic violence battery, false imprisonment, and criminal mischief are only some of the counts against him.
