Murder Inc founder Irving ‘Irv Gotti’ Lorenzo is producing the 5-part series.
This summer, BET will broadcast the first five episodes of the five-part television series. MURDER INC Records, the record company that launched the careers of Ashanti, Ja Rule, and Charli Baltimore, has been revealed as the subject of a new unscripted documentary series to be shown on BET.
The rumored five-part documentary will tell the hidden story of the growth, collapse, and redemption of the infamous hip-hop label, which was founded in 1999, and its renowned founder and CEO, Irving ‘Irv Gotti’ Lorenzo.
Each episode will include never-before-seen videos as well as a soundtrack of chart-topping songs that helped define the musical period and will take viewers on a journey from the label’s beginnings to the present day.
The documentary, according to sources, will be released in the summer. According to reports, filming for the documentary will begin as early as next month. It has not yet been revealed whether or not the original artists from the label would be interviewed for the documentary.
