Marshmello The New Music Curator For Monday Night Football 2022-2023 Season

Marshmello joins the likes of Drake, Diplo, and Dj Khaled, who were all picked for the same role in different seasons.

It has been confirmed that Marshmello will be in charge of the music for ESPN’s Monday Night Football for the 2022–2023 season.

In his role as the fourth music curator for the NFL and ESPN, Marshmello will contribute to the soundtrack of weekly Monday Night Football promotional spots this season. On September 12 at 8 p.m. ET, the Broncos and Seahawks will play in the first game to use Mello’s “Heavy Action” remix.

Marshmello is the first artist to remix Heavy Action, a tune initially produced in 1970 and played for over 50 years on Monday Night Football. Now he will bring his personal flavor to the standard Monday Night Football track.β€œ

Kevin Wilson, ESPN’s Creative Music Director, adds, “We wanted to update the traditional music for Monday Night Football. As a first for Heavy Action remix, “to get there, we decided to enlist an artist.”

Joanne Strange, ESPN’s Music Operation Supervisor, chimes in, “With his distinctive modern sounds and craftsmanship, Marshmello was the right musician to collaborate with.” There will be a new, faster version of the familiar MNF theme song that fans will recognize.

He also used the title track from his next album, “Grown Man,” as the soundtrack of a promotional video for Russell Wilson’s long-awaited homecoming to Seattle. Throughout the season, NFL on ESPN will air advertising pieces using music from Marshmello and other musicians whose music captures the excitement of Monday Night Football. As the music curator for the year 2022, Marshmello follows in the footsteps of Diplo (2019), DJ Khaled (2020), and Drake (2021).
