Lil Tjay wants to be crowned but other say Fivio is king at the moment, do you agree?
Lil Tjay king of NY? The discussion over who should be crowned King of New York will continue to be a heated subject in the city for as long as the Big Apple continues to develop new talent. In addition to established artists such as Fivio Foreign, Bobby Shmurda, and even newbie Kay Flock, there’s another artist wanting to re-enter the discourse and re-establish themselves in the spotlight.
This past Monday (March 14), Lil Tjay (of the Bronx) re-entered the argument over who should be crowned King of New York by using social media to put his name in the mix. According to Tjay, he is staking his claim by revealing that he would be releasing new songs in the near future.
Lil Tjay’s most recent studio album, Destined 2 Win, was released in April 2021 and debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 list, selling more than 62,000 album-equivalent units in its first week of availability. The album was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in July 2021, indicating that it has sold more than 500,000 copies in its entirety.
If Tjay is forced to leave the city within the next several months, he will face up against Fivio Foreign for control of the city. It is expected that the Brooklyn rapper’s critically acclaimed album B.I.B.L.E will be released in the following weeks. As reported by the Daily Mail, Kanye West is working as executive producer on the album, and he has previously cooperated with Fivio on the lead track “City of Gods,” which features Alicia Keys.
