Late Rapper Prodigy Releases A New Track


Prodigy of Mobb Deep passed in 2017 of complications from sickle-cell anemia.

The late Mobb Deep member and rapper Prodigy has a new single out. The album, titled The Hegelian Dialectic: The Book of Heroine, will be released this summer, and the song “You Will See” will be included in it.


Hegelian Dialectic (The Book of Revelation), his final album, was released just a few months before his death in 2017. As a result of complications from sickle-cell anemia, Prod was 42, he passed away at the Spring Valley Medical Center in Las Vegas.

According to Billboard, this posthumous album is the middle chapter in a trilogy titled “Hegelian Dialectic,” with “The Book of the Dead” set for release in 2023.


He was in Las Vegas performing on the Art of Rap Tour alongside Havoc, Ghostface Killah, Onyx, KRS-One, and Ice-T when he was hospitalized.

Prodigy and the rapper Havoc formed the group Mobb Deep. In 2014, Prodigy released his last album with Mobb Deep, titled “The Infamous Mobb Deep.”

Billboard also reports that a new Mobb Deep album, featuring Havoc as lead singer, is “currently in the works.”
