Facebook released a statement comfirming the outage
Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and What’s App seemed to be suffering severe technical difficulties once again Monday.
For many users on Monday morning before noon ET, the company’s main FB app and Instagram were unavailable due to allegations made by a whistleblower that the corporation prioritized profits above customer safety.
The following error notice appeared on FB’s website on Monday: “Sorry, something went wrong.” We’re looking into it, and we’ll get it resolved as quickly as we can,” and some information in the FB app was not loading properly. Instagram’s website flashed a “5xx Server Error,” while its app displayed an error notice that said, “Couldn’t refresh feed.” Instagram’s site and app were both down at the time of publication.
It was about 11:35 a.m. ET on Monday when user complaints of issues with FB and Instagram began to rise in the United States, according to the monitoring website DownDetector. According to DownDetector, customers in other countries experienced outages at the same time as those in the United States. Twitter however is working just fine.
