Doja Cat has taken the world by storm.
Doja Cat opened up about her “Planet Her” follow-up in a new interview with Elle and addressed critics who argue she isn’t a rapper in the classic sense. The Grammy winner will have plenty of opportunities to prove the doubters wrong on her next album, which she assures me will be mostly rap, according to the interview.
“I’ve rapped since the beginning, and I really couldn’t even sing that well, to begin with—I got a lot better,” Doja said. “I use my voice as a tool to create these worlds, and it’s fine if people think that I can’t rap.”

Discussions on Doja’s role in hip-hop have been going on for years, notably in 2022, with other MCs weighing in on her abilities. Many people believe that discounting Doja’s rap abilities is needless, some believe she isn’t a rapper or wouldn’t categorize her as a rapper, yet Doja seemed unaffected.
She stated that she hasn’t started working on the record, which she previously stated would be a double LP produced by 9th Wonder and Jay Versace, but that it is coming.

Doja Cat just canceled her summer festival appearances and her tour with The Weeknd due to tonsil surgery.
