Colin L Powell was beloved by his family and collegues
Colin L Powell has died from coronavirus complications, according to a statement from his family. Powell was the former secretary of state and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Powell’s family said in a statement put on Facebook that he had received all of his vaccinations. Powell’s family expressed gratitude to the personnel at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for providing him with “compassionate care.”
In a statement, the family stated, “we have lost a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandpa, and great American.”
Powell was the first African-American to hold the positions of Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the United States. He was encouraged to run for president on a number of occasions, but he declined to do so. Powell’s manner of death is said to be Covid related.
