The Mass Shooting happened in the downtown area near City Hall, Sacramento Capitol Building, and Golden 1 Center arena.
A mass shooting in downtown Sacramento early Sunday killed six people and injured ten more, turning entire blocks of the capital city into a horrible crime scene of blood and smashed glass. A Twitter video has surfaced with rapid gunfire in the background can be heard and people running. See below.
There are no suspects in arrest, according to Police Chief Kathy Lester, who spoke with the media at the site. It’s unclear if the victims were purposefully targeted, or how many shooters were involved, according to Lester. The gunshots occurred on the 1000 block of K Street, near a strip of nightclubs near Sacramento landmarks such as the Golden 1 Center and the Capitol.
The gunfire occurred just after 2 a.m., although the precise location of the event has not been established. As cops worked the scene, shattered glass and police markers were scattered over a two-by-four-block area on 10th Street from K to L, police were also investigating at 12th and K streets.

Thousands had gathered hours before for a concert by Grammy-winning rapper Tyler, the Creator at the neighboring Golden 1 Center. Although it was unclear if any of the victims were there, Steve Hicks, a Dublin resident who’d accompanied his kids to the concert, claimed he was woken by the sound of sirens in his Citizen room.
Police have no suspects at the time and are asking for the community’s help. Sacramento police are offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the shooter.
