NFL draft season is almost here!

With many but no clear cut blue chip prospect rising to number one for this year’s highly anticipated NFL Draft, the team at Rap Aechelon explores what we think each team will draft in the first round.

Before you engage with this our mock, please check out this video below via ESPN on their take on the draft for insight.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars

What I think they will do: Aidan hutchinson, Defensive End from The University Of Michigan. Pro Comparasion – J.J. Watt light

What I think they should do: Evan Neal, Offensive Tackle University Of Alabama – Pro Comparison – Terron Armstead

I would strongly advise Jacksonville to put their prized pick last year Quarterback Trevor Lawrence in the best position possible to win and that includes making sure his line is filled with elite talent. With no wide receiver this year in the realm of Ja’Marr Chase or DeVonta Smith then the next best option is the offensive line. Evan Neal is a mammoth man at OT and had a winning pedigree along with elite traits.

2. Detroit Lions

What I think they will pick – Malik Willis, QB University of Liberty and what I think what they should pick. Pro Comparison: Lamar Jackson.

Yes, I understand Malik Willis is not pro ready nor do I think he is the second best prospect in this years draft. However, his ceiling is higher than almost every other player and definitely quarterback to become a franchise changing player which Detroit needs badly. He has an electric arm, nice personality, easily coachable, and godly athletic traits that with the right development he can potentially be a top five quarterback in the NFL in a few year. You don’t draft for just immediate impact in the first round, you draft for the next decade and Willis is a worthy investment. Willis if coached right can take the NFL by storm!

3. Houston Texans

What I think they should pick – Kayvon Thibodeaux, DE, University Of Oregon. Pro comparison: Jadeveon Clowney but better or Chase Young.

What I think they will pick – Ikem Ekwonu, OT, University Of North Carolina. Pro Comparison – Trey Smith but a smaller

I get the argument to protect Davis Mills and to build out the offense long term. However, with Kayvon has the most superstar potential in this years draft and for a team who is in the midst of a long term rebuilt you got to draft the best players available. Kayvon is my number one prospect his year.

4. New York Jets

What I think the Jets should pick – Kyle Hamilton, Safety, Notre Dame University. Pro comparison – Bigger Brain Dawkins or more athletic Kam Chancellor

What I think the Jets will pick – Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State University. Pro comparison, AJ Green.

I love Garrett Wilson but players built like Kyle Hamilton aren’t common at all. He’s literally in the mold of the “game changing” safeties we have seen over the past few decades the change the culture of locker rooms. With a pick at ten to address the WR position they should add a potential superstar like Kyle Hamilton in a position of need for the Jets.

5. New York Giants

What I think they should draft – Ikem Ekwonu, OT/OG.

What I think they will draft: Charles Cross, OT, University Of Mississippi. Pro comp, Braden Smith.

With Ikem gone, THE GIANTS NEED TO DRAFT A OFFENSIVE LINEMAN BADLY and Charles Cross is a top ten talent. DRAFT A TOP TEN TALENT, please. Especially with no more superstar quarterback prospects available.

6. Carolina Panthers

What I think they will draft – Kenny Pickett, QB, University Of Pittsburgh. Pro comparison – Kirk Cousins.

What I think they should draft – Ahmad Garner, Cornerack, University Of Cincinnati.

Do I think Kenny Pickett is a bad player? No, he’s serviceable player who is a third round prospect to me but it’s the first round and you pick players who can help change your franchise. I think we recent picks in the top ten that were mistakes such as Jared Goff, Baker Mayfield, Mitchell, etc….. we need evaluate QB talent for the long term and not just how fast can they produce. That being said Ahmad Garner is the best cornerback prospect I’ve seen since Darrelle Revis. Please don’t mess this up Carolina.

7. New York Giants

What I think they Giants will draft – Ahmad Garner, CB.

What I think they should draft, Ahmad Garner, CB.

If Ahmad Garner is here, please pick him. He’s my third highest prospect this year so this is a steal. Literally hasn’t allowed a touchdown his whole college career, don’t overthink this one New York. They need secondary help badly.

8. Atlanta Falcons

What I think they will and should pick – Kayvon Thibodeaux.

It’s absurd how far he is falling along with Kyle Hamilton for nit picking reasons. If he’s still here, Atlanta better run up and make this pick ASAP. they need pass rush and he provides that in spades along with playing the run elite.

9. Seattle Seahawks

What I think they will and should pick – Kyle Hamilton, safety.

Again, as with the last pick with Kyle Hamilton falling the Seahawks should praise the heavens for a talent like Kyle falling to them at nine. He’s there new Kam Chancellor. Don’t overthink this Seattle.

10. New York Jets

What I think they will and should pick – Derek Stingley, CB, Louisiana State University. Pro comp, Champ Bailey.

Yes I understand his injury is concerning but his talent wen healthy is on par with the best in this class. Rehab him properly and you have potentially the best corner in the NFL for ears to come.

11. Washington Commanders

What I think they should and will pick: Chris Olave, WR. Pro comp, Amari Cooper.

Washington needs another playmaker outside of scary Terry and Olave fits like a glove. With ana bilty to play outside and the slot gives the Commanders positional versatility as well. Give Carson wentz the opportunity to prove himself with as much help as possible and go for QB in a better class next year if needed.

12. Minnesota Vikings

What I think they should and will pick – Trent McDuffie, CB, University Of Washington.

With the top two corner options off the board and in desperate need of new life in the backend Minnesota drafts Trent. while I don’t think he will ever be elite I do think he can be a long term starter for years to come. Solid pick.

13. Houston Texans

What I think they should pick – Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas. Pro comparison, Brandon Marshall.

What I think they will pick – Jermaine John, DE, Florida State University. Pro comp, Mario Williams.

Powerful, fast, and productive, Johnson checks all of the boxes for everything you would want in a modern defensive end. His slip is more due to team needs then actual talents so if he is picked over Treylon Burks then I’m not made because Johnson is a top ten talent n this years draft. He’s very similar to former Texans first overall pick Mario Williams so this is a great value mid first round.

14. Baltimore Ravens

What I think the Ravens will pick – Travon Walker. Pro Comp, N/A.

What I the Ravens should pick – Devin Lloyd. Pro comp, Bobby Wagner.

LLoyd pairing up with another stud young linebacker in Patrick Queen would help anchor for decades. While Trayvon Walker has top five talent he hasn’t shown everything on tape. He will probably go much higher than this due to potential but he’s combine measurements haven’t equated to on filed success like Devin lloyd.

15. Philadelphia Eagles

What I think the Eagles should and will get – Treylon Burks.

As an lifelong Eagles fan we need to start getting our QBs help at the WR position groups. The Eagles don’t need a burner or a another slot receiver. We need a game break like Burks who will pair with DeVonta Smith perfectly and give Jalen a much need jump ball/broken tackle weapon.

16. New Orleans Saints

Who I think the Saint should and will pick – Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa. Pro comp, Mike McGlinchey.

Replace one mountain with a mean streak with another. Penning might have to get toned down a bit but for the NFL I think if his aggression is channeled right then this can be a major steal. Smooth, strong, and intense, Trevor is a gem mid first round. If he played at Alabama he arguably could’ve been a top five pick.

17. Los Angeles Chargers

Who I think the Saint should and will pick – Bernhard Raimann, OT, Central Michigan. Pro comp, N/A.

This is rather simple, the Chargers need another tackle and they grab the best one on the board.

18. Philadelphia Eagles

Who I think the Eagles should and will get – Jaquan Brisker, safety, Penn State University. Pro comp, Malcolm Jenkins.

The Eagles need a game changing safety in the mold of Philadelphia greats such as Brain Dawkins and Malcolm Jenkins whom have anchor their finest recent defenses. The go local and pick a prospect in Brisker who has potential to be a star with the right coaching.

19. New Orlean Saints

Who I think the Saints should and will get – Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama. Pro comp, Antonio Brown without the drama.

If it wasn’t for injury then I Williams could’ve been a solid top ten pick and the potential best WR prospect. Fas and smooth on all routes make him a steal at pick 19.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers

Who I think the Steelers should get – Jordan Davis, IDL, Georgia University. Pro comp, Fletcher Cox light.

Who I think they will get – Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati University. Pro comp, Dak Prescott.

While i understand the Steelers wanting to address QB with ben gone but aside from Willis I do not think there is a first round worthy talent. With an aging defensive line getting Jordan Davis who anchored Georgia’s national championship defense this year at 20 would be perfect. Desmond Ridder is not a bad prospect but he is nothing more than a above average starter at best and that’s not cutting it at pick 20.

21. New England Patriots

Who I think they will and should pick – Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida University. Pro comp, JC Jackson.

Replace what you lost in top flight corner JC Jackson with potentially another version of him in Kaiir Elam. His game needs refinement but he as all of the tools and production on tape to back up a first round selection.

22. Green Bay Packers

Who I think the Packers should get – Christian Watson, WR, North Dakota State. Pro comp, Demaryius Thomas.

Who I think the Packers will get – Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State. Pro comp, Jeremy Maclin.

While i think Jahan Dotson can be worthy of late first round selection with top twenty receiver potential one day but Watson if groomed right can be a top ten talent. His production in a run based offense and top flight talents make him potentially a elite receiver one day.

23. Arizona Cardinals

What I think the Cardinals should and will get – Tyler Linderbaum, Center, Iowa. Prom comp, Eric Mangold.

If tyler wasn’t just viewed as a center he would be a top ten pick. He is that good. At 23, this is a steal with all pro potential. Kyler needs a line and this is a great fit.

24. Dallas Cowboys

What I think the Cowboys will and should pick – Zion Johnson, OG/OT, Boston College. Pro Comp, N/A.

The Cowboys lost way too much this offseason on the OL for them not to address it. Zion can play both guard and tackle well so he’s a day one fix with long term potential.

25. Buffalo Bills

What I think the Bills should and will pick – Andrew Booth, CB, Clemson. Pro comp, Lito Sheppard.

Not only is he a scheme fit but a corner will game winning plays and a good pedigree, Booth can be a steal at 25. I think if Clemson was a good as usual this past year he would be a top 15 pick. The Bills not only grab a need but the best player available.

26. Green Bay Packers

What I think the Packers should and will get – Jordan Davis, IDL, Georgia.

Due to team need and over scouting Jordan Davis slips to 26 in which the Packers better run up the the podium to select a future potential pro bowler.

27. Tennessee Titans

What I think the Titans should and will pick – Skyy Moore, WR, Western Michigan. Pro comp, DeSean Jackson.

Give Ryan another year to prove himself and draft a WR which complements aJ Brown perfectly in the shifty Skyy Moore.

28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

What I think the Buccaneers should and will pick – Lewis Cine, Safety, Georgia.

The Buccaneers need help in the secondary and Cine has the most upside hear to be a star. Pencil this in easy,

29. Kansas City Chiefs

What I think the Chiefs will and should pick – George Karlaftis, DE, Purdue University. Pro comp, Ryan Kerrigan.

George slips due to athleticism concerns and the Chiefs benefit great by selecting a top 15 talent at the end of the first round. They need an edge and he provides one that can be very good for a long time. He compares to fellow Purdue and NFL great Ryan Kerrigan.

30. Kansas City Chiefs

What I think the Chiefs should and will get – Christian Watson, WR.

You’re not going to replace a top three NFL receiver in Tyreek Hill but Watson is the closest thing traits wise to him. Draft him and develop him since the Packers will probably pass on him. I’m calling it, this could be the steal of this years NFL draft.

31. Cincinnati Bengals

What I think the Bengals should and will draft – Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia.

The surprise team of the NFL adds another young piece with upside to their defense with Nakobe Dean. He has top 15 talent so getting him at 31 is a steal.

32. Detroit Lions

What I think the Lions will and should draft – David Ojabo, DE, University Of Michigan.

Before his ACL injury, Ojabo was a nFL draft darling and I think he’s too tantalizing of a prospect to miss out on if you’re the Lions at 32. He is a top ten talent who falls due to unfortunate circumstance.
