Billboard Music Awards broadcasted live on NBC
The Billboard Music Awards honor artists from a wide range of musical styles whose work has been the most talked-about over the past year.

The Billboard Music Awards which took place on Sunday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and was hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs, awards were given to performers who have been successful because of things like selling and streaming albums and songs, getting airplay on the radio, going on tours, and using social media.

Because of the enduring popularity of his Dawn FM album and hits, which followed 2020’s After Hours, The Weeknd is the artist who has received the most nominations for this year’s awards. He is a finalist in a whopping 17 categories. After the release of her album Planet Her, Doja Cat was chosen as a finalist in 14 different categories. This made her the female artist with the most nominations for this year’s awards.

BTS, who have topped the Billboard Hot 100 twice in the past year with the singles “Butter” and “Permission to Dance,” received the most nominations of any duo or group in the history of the 2022 BBMAs. Mary J. Blige was also given the prestigious Billboard Icon Award for her amazing career as a performer that has lasted for decades.
